| Description |
- Work with students with disabilities under supervision of teachers
- Ensure safety of students
- Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents
- Carry out other normal routine and extra activities necessary for the educational development of students with disabilities
- Must be able to deal appropriately with students who exhibit emotional or behavioral problems, aggressive behavior, or physical disabilities
- Occasional requirements to travel to grocery store/fields trips
- Occasional requirement to climb, kneel, sit, and balance
- Monitor and manage student behavior as directed by the teacher
- Assist students in the cafeteria, playground/recess, hall and/or classroom
- Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g. custody papers, medical records, communication with parents and other teachers
- Ability to carry out policies and procedures of the Board of Education and the Principal
- BCI/FBI check
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
