Work with students with disabilities under supervision of teachers
Ensure safety of students
Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents
Carry out other normal routine and extra activities necessary for the educational development of students with disabilities
Must be able to deal appropriately with students who exhibit emotional or behavioral problems, aggressive behavior, or physical disabilities
Occasional requirements to travel to grocery store/fields trips
Occasional requirement to climb, kneel, sit, and balance
Monitor and manage student behavior as directed by the teacher
Assist students in the cafeteria, playground/recess, hall and/or classroom
Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g. custody papers, medical records, communication with parents and other teachers
Ability to carry out policies and procedures of the Board of Education and the Principal
BCI/FBI check
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
